What is the Maximum Capacity on the Boat?
The maximum capacity of the boat in normally 28 passengers + crew.
What Types of Cruises Do You Offer?
We offer an array of cruises including one-hour Bay Cruises, Happy Hour Cruises, Sunset Cruises, Eco Tours (Including Seal Watching tours during the late Fall and Early Spring).
What is the Boat’s Schedule?
We are currently sailing on Thursday through Sunday. During July & August, we also offer our Tuesday night Trivia Sunset Cruise. Two-hour Private Cruises can be booked 7 days a week.
What Are the Prices of the Cruises?
Depending on the cruise, prices range from $15 – $35, Shuttle Service to/from Freeport & Point Lookout is $20 each way. Special Events prices are normally $45-$60.
Do You Allow Pets on the Boat?
We are 100% Pet Friendly on all of our cruises!
What is Your Cancellation Policy?
For Public Cruises, you can get a full refund if you cancel up to 24 hours before your cruise. For Private Cruises, you can get a full refund up to 48 hours before your cruise. As of the 2022 Season, the Memorial Weekend Airshows are Non-refundable. If the show is cancelled, you will receive a voucher of equal value that can be used on any of our cruises.
Is There Parking Close to the Boat?
There is a large municipal parking lot directly across the street. The meters this year are .50/hour. There is also free parking on the street where available.
What Time Should I Get to the Boat?
We require our customers to arrive 30 minutes early for check-in. Please note that if you don’t arrive 5 minutes prior to sailing time, all stand by guests will be boarded and there will be no refund.
What is Your Weather Policy?
We want all of our guests to have a great experience on the boat. With that in mind, if there is inclement weather, we will make the determination whether the cruises will be cancelled or will sail. We will ALWAYS cancel if we deem weather conditions will make sailing unsafe. If we cancel due to adverse weather, you can choose to reschedule, receive a voucher of an equal amount to be used on any future cruise or receive a full refund.
Can We Bring Our Own Drinks on the Boat?
Since we are a New York State Licensed Bar, it is illegal to bring your own alcohol on the boat.
Do You Serve Food on the Boat?
Sort of! We serve a light fare including chips and soft pretzels. You are welcome to bring your own food onboard.
Can We Bring Our Own Food on the Boat?
Yes, Please feel free to bring any food you’d like on the boat.
Where Does the Water Taxi Stop?
The Freeport Water Taxi & Tour boat offers a shuttle to and from Freeport and Point Lookout. We offer this service on any of our public cruises. The price is $20 each way.
What Should We Wear on the Boat?
Our cruises are a totally casual experience! Rubber soled shoes or sneakers are advisable since the boat is constantly moving. We do suggest that you bring a few layers of clothing in case it gets chilly outside! Also, sunscreen is advisable during daytime cruises.
What Types of Safety Precautions Are Taken on the Boat?
We will always keep our passengers safe while cruising. To that point, there is NO standing on the seats or storage box at any time. There is NO running on the boat at any time. While docking, all passengers must be in their seats. Our boat is a USCG Inspected vessel and goes through a vigorous safety inspection every year. In the unlikely case of emergency, there are Personal Floatation Devices (PFD’s) for every passenger onboard regardless of their size.
Can I Get Seasick on the Boat?
We strictly sail on the bay and since we started Freeport Water Taxi & Tours, we have never had a passenger get seasick. If you truly feel this may be an issue, we suggest you consult your local pharmacy about your options.
How Do I Book a Cruise?

How Do Your Private Cruises Work?
Private cruises are offered 7 days a week. If you are interested in booking a weekend Private Cruise, we suggest you give us a call so we can plan the best time that works for you! Private Cruise pricing ranges from $500-$700 for a 2-Hour cruise. Live music is available on any Private Cruise. On Saturday evenings, live music is included in the price of the cruise.
Do Any of Your Cruises Have Live Music?
Yes, every Saturday and Sunday night through out the season, starting with our 5pm Happy Hour Cruises and Sunset Cruises.
Are There Any Job Opportunities at Freeport Water Taxi & Tours?
Yes, we are always looking for good people to work with us. Job include, Captain’s, crew, bartending and sales. Captain’s must have a Master upgrade on their USCG License.
Is the Boat Covered or Have Any Shaded Areas?
Yes, two thirds of the boat has a solid roof to give passengers relief from the sun. If it gets chilly, the boat also has clear vinyl windows that can be lowered to make it more comfortable.
Can I Get Wet on the Boat?
Maybe! Because of the design of the boat, we have what we call a SPLASH ZONE in the very front of the boat. This area occasionally gets “wash” from the wakes of other boats; not unlike the log flume rides at most amusement parks! We recommend that you wear rubber soled shoes or sneakers when sailing with us. If you are wearing expensive shoes, we suggest that you either take them off or move to the middle of the boat.
What Type of Music Do You Have on the Boat?
We are a Caribbean themed boat. Most of the music you will hear on the boat is the sounds of the islands, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Jack Johnson, Zac Brown etc. We have live music every Saturday and Sunday throughout the season.
What Do You Serve at the Bar?
We offer a full bar including Beer, Wine and Spirits. We also have a variety of tropical specialty drinks to complete your cruising experience.
Is There a Bathroom Onboard?
Yes, we have a marine head onboard for our customers use.
